Demaris is a psychotherapist in private practice on the Vineyard, with a Ph.D. in Religion and Psychology. She is also a peacebuilder in Bosnia. Demaris is currently finishing a book about the lives of 8 survivors of the war in Bosnia and another one about her last year with her husband, David Hart.
Demaris lost her beloved partner and husband, David, over a year and a half ago. Having experienced grief herself, as well as having helped others to heal from it, is her motivation for giving this workshop with her good friend, Kanta.
Kanta is an artist, a healer and a yoga teacher. She has been interested in the dynamics of healing ever since the early loss of her parents. She has lovingly practiced various forms of bodywork and massage for over thirty years, helping each person find the inner pathways to stillness and ease.
While studying for her M.A. at Lesley University in Holistic Studies and Expressive Therapy a new understanding of the connection between our inner artistic world and the health and well being of our mind-body was born. During the long illness and death of her husband in 2011, Kanta depended on her own meditation practice as well as many hours in her painting studio to keep her healthy and balanced.
